Bengaluru West City Corpn aims for dog bite-free ward

BENGALURU: The Bengaluru West City Corporation has launched a special programme through the Animal Husbandry Department to create a model ward by bringing dog bite cases to zero.

Corporation Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra held a meeting of the monitoring committee for animal birth control surgery centre and anti-rabies vaccine under the Animal Husbandry Department of the corporation on Wednesday.

After reviewing the progress of the ABC and ARV programme, the Commissioner said that the department’s special street dog adoption programme is good and should be continued.

He instructed to launch the special programme to creat a model ward by bringing dog bite cases to zero. He also gave directions regarding the special initiatives of the Animal Husbandry Department announced in the 2026-27 budget.
