BELAGAVI: Two days after the murder of Mahantesh Rudrappa Karalingannavar (24), the Marihal police have arrested two people and sent them to jail on Saturday. Akshaya Kumar Konkeri (23), a resident of Sulebhavi taluk, and Rajesab Mulla (23), a resident of Marihal, are the arrested accused.

The body of Mahantesh Karalingannavar (24) was found on the Marihal Government School premises in a pool of blood on Friday morning. The Marihal police had registered the case and started investigation.

It is said that a scuffle ensued between Mahantesh and the accused over a trivial reason when Mahantesh threatened Rajesab. The two accused later killed Mahantesh.

Mahantesh, who was sitting in front of a classroom on Thursday, was hacked to death with a machete. The duo the fled from the spot.
