UDUPI: The Udupi town police have arrested an individual, identified as Vijay alias Vijay Poojari (36), a resident of Ankudru in Udyavara, on charge of attempting to sell banned narcotic substances near Ajjarakadu Bhujanga Park in Udupi city.
Police have seized narcotic substances and a scooter worth about Rs 85,000 from the accused. On receiving information about the man’s suspicious behaviour near Bhujanga Park in city, Udupi City Police went to the spot and conducted raid. Then, they arrested Vijay who was allegedly attempting to sell by keeping narcotic substances in glove box of his scooter.
Police have seized nine zip pouches containing MDMA of 17.66 grams, 2.18 grams of colored tablets and powder, weighing machine, mobile phone and scooter used for crime. In this regard case has been registered at Udupi City Police Station, and police have taken up further investigation. A total of four cases, including two cases under NDPS Act, have been registered against Vijay earlier in Udupi town police station.
