BENGALURU: The Health Department is considering a change in the food menu given to patients in government hospitals. Currently, all patients are given the same type of food and now, the Health Department is preparing to provide three types of nutritious food based on age and illness.

People criticize that treatment and food are not good in government hospitals, but both treatment and food in government hospitals are good. Now the Health Department is preparing to give some good news to patients in government hospitals. Preparations are under way to change the food menu given to patients in government hospitals.

At present, all patients in government hospitals are being given the same general food. Food is not being distributed according to age and illness. But from now on, a decision has been made to distribute four types of food and it needs to get official approval. There is a plan to provide special nutritious food in four categories: one meal for general patients, one meal based on illness, and for postnatal mothers and children.

Currently, ISKCON is supplying food in four general government hospitals in Bengaluru. Food tenders have been given to different organisations in various districts of the state. In the coming days, there is a plan to distribute different types of food across all government hospitals in the state based on illness, treatment, and age. There is discussion about providing food in North Karnataka and South Karnataka styles. The food menu is likely to be changed by the end of this year or at the beginning of next year and tenders will be called and finalised.
