CHIKKABALLAPUR: The border villages of Chikkaballapur and Doddballapur districts recorded tremors on Friday just a day after tremors were felt in Doddballapur. The tremors registereed 2.9 on the Richter scale and were felt in the border areas of Gauribidanur in Chikkaballapur district and Doddballapur of Bangalore Rural district.
Early on Saturday morning, tremors were recorded in the area between Nachikunte of Gauribidanur taluk and Aroodhi of Doddballapur taluk at 3.29.42 am, at a depth of 5 kilometers from surface of earth. Epicenter was at 13.497 latitude and 77.420 longitude. Only on Friday, tremors were reported in Tubagere limits of Doddballapur taluk.
Lagumanahalli village in Doddballapur taluk also experienced tremors on Saturday. The villagers said they could feel the rumblings around 3 am and added that the walls of the house belonging to one Lakshmi Narasamma had developed cracks. All vessels in the house were scattered and villagers came out of their houses due to fear.
