BENGALURU: A history-sheeter who is in jail, allegedly threatened a woman of leaking her morphed photos to her husband and demanded Rs 5 lakh. A case has been registered against him under the IT Act at the Yelahanka New Town police station.
Last August, Manoj a.k.a. Kencha and his associated had shown an nude photo to the victim’s mother and threatened to send it to her husband also. He had then extorted Rs 40,000 from the victim’s mother.
On February 9, Manoj’s associate Karthik made a WhatsApp call to the victim’s mother and demanded Rs 5 lakh not to leak the nude photo to her husband. On February 12, Manoj himself made a call and threatened them to pay up. The two made calls through WhatsApp and Messenger.
Following this, the victim has lodged a complaint with the Yelahanka New Town police based on which an FIR was registered under sections of the IT Act. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police are now preparing to seek Manoj’s custody on a body warrant for further investigation.
