BENGALURU: A man who had jumped bail after murdering his wife and was living in disguise as a moulvi has been arrested after over three decades.

In 1993, Subramani had murdered his wife Sudha, suspecting her fidelity, and was arrested by the Hebbal police. After securing bail, he skipped court hearings and fled to Kerala where he changed his name to Hussain Sikander and even started practising Islam.

Subramani had fled his house after securing bail.

To gain the trust of locals, he spent some time in the neighbouring state and shifted to Chikkamgalur a few years ago where he was a moulvi in a mosque.

The Hebbal police have tracked him down and arrested him. Further investigation is under way.
