MADIKERI: A tiger was spotted by the side of the Siddapur-Mysuru main road near Ghattatala Heruru in Virajpet taluk. Tiger movement in Kodagu district has again caused concern.
The sight of the tiger that appeared near Ghattatala Heruru estate was captured by a vehicle rider on his mobile phone. It is learned that the tiger that appeared by the roadside then went towards the nearby Tata estate.
In the light of the tiger sighting in the area, the Forest department has instructed the surrounding villagers and coffee plantation workers to be careful. They have been requested not to go alone to coffee plantations and have also been warned not to roam outside unnecessarily during night time.
Further, locals have been instructed not go near it, follow or provoke when a tiger appears. The public has been requested to immediately inform the forest department if a tiger is sighted.
