Prices of vegetables, leafy greens go up in Bengaluru, hit household budgets

BENGALURU: The common people, who are already distressed due to the price hike of daily essential items, have been hit with another big blow. The prices of vegetables and greens are increasing day by day in Bengaluru, putting an additional burden on families’ monthly expenses.

Due to adverse weather conditions, the prices of several vegetables have reached record levels. Because of insufficient rainfall as expected, the yield of vegetables has decreased. As a result, vegetables have become unaffordable, with people saying that they can’t buy them. The impact of the state’s drought-like situation has directly hit kitchens.
