BENGALURU: The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has taken steps to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) technology for water management. It is deliberating on using AI in various divisions and discussing future water management.

Meanwhile, for the first time in the country, BWSSB has organised the National AI and Digital Water Summit. The BWSSB is gearing up to tackle the global problem of groundwater depletion in the future and to efficiently address issues by using AI in various divisions.

To formulate smart water management systems for the future, it has organised the country’s first National AI and Digital Water Summit on Thursday. Around 400 water experts and AI specialists from India and abroad are participating in this summit.

At this summit, experts will explain AI-based water governance, IoT monitoring, wastewater reuse, GPS mapping, water tanker tracking, the use of AI in smart metering, and the benefits arising from it. The water board has taken a novel initiative to use AI to find solutions to problems in its sewage system, groundwater depletion, and various other works.

Board chairman Ram Prasath Manohar told Public TV, “We are organising a national-level AI summit for the first time to discuss areas where artificial intelligence and other technologies can be used for better water management and used water management. Based on the outcomes, we will see what can be implemented”.

The BWSSB is set to start a new revolution using AI. As the first part of that, an international-level summit is being held. In the coming days, the board has moved ahead to use AI for quick solutions and problem resolution.
