BENGALURU: Two major infrastructure projects in the city have become a problem for traffic as the works have not been completed. Now, Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M Maheshwara Rao has set deadlines for completion of the works.

Magadi Road via Majestic and Rajajinagar is one of Bengaluru’s busiest vehicle routes. For the Majestic to Okalipuram 8-lane corridor, the GBA Chief Commissioner has instructed officials to complete the pending works under the Chennai railway track within 25 days.

Two box pushing works have already been completed under the Chennai railway track by the Railways. In this regard, he has instructed officials to complete the construction of the connecting road for vehicle movement in one box section of the route from Majestic towards Rajajinagar within 25 days.

On Dr Rajkumar Road, white-topping work for 1.8 km from Navarang Theatre to Star Bazaar signal has been taken up. The work is currently under way on one side and will be completed by the end of July and opened to vehicle traffic.

The GBA chief commissioner has instructed officials to then take up work on the other side and complete the entire work by the end of October. The delay in work on this road, which connects 21 districts, is causing major traffic problems.
