Uzbek woman who was murdered at Bengaluru hotel had travelled to India more than 50 times

BENGALURU: The Seshadripuram police have cracked the suspected murder case of Uzbek national Zareena in a swift operation and arrested the two accused from Kerala within 24 hours. The police said that the accused had committed the crime for money, as they thought she was a rich and had a lot of money.

The arrested accused are Amrit and Robert, hailing from Assam. The two had come to Bengaluru in search of work and they are working in the house keeping section of a hotel nearby the BDA headquarters.

The Uzbek woman was suffocated to death at Jagadish Hotel in Seshadripuram. The post-mortem examination was conducted only after getting permission from the Uzbek embassy, and it established murder. Zareena has been travelling to India for the past few years and had visited the country more than 50 times.

When the woman arrived at the hotel, a customer came to the hotel looking for a Russian call girl. When he found out that she was not Russian, he paid Rs 7,000 and left.

The murder accused thought she was a call girl and tried to trap her. The woman slapped them when they misbehaved with her. They got angry and killed the woman by smothering her.

They took away foreign and Indian currency notes and a mobile phone from the woman after the murder and fled to Kerala. The police have seized Rs 13,000, two Uzbek currency notes worth Rs 2,000 and another note worth 5,000  from the accused.
