TUMAKURU: A man who claims to be a Naxalite, has threatened a farmer by fixing a blackmail letter on his door and demanding Rs 5 lakh, at Gangasagara in Pavagada taluk.
The self-proclaimed Naxal, Kanakala Bande Venkatesh, had planted a bomb and damaged a farmer’s water pump one month ago. Now, he has stuck a blackmail letter demanding Rs 5 lakh on the door of a shed on farmer Muttavva Bhushappa’s farm.
Venkatesh has written the letter in Telugu in the name of CPI, CPM People’s War Janashakti Party. He stated that Rs 5 lakh should be sent through lawyer Subbarayappa before September 16 for comrade Devanna’s dalam. The letter states that there are many cases against Kanakalabande Venkatesh and more money is required to fight them.
He has threatened that if anyone is informed about the issue, the consequences would be dangerous. The frightened family of farmer Muttavva Bhushappa has lodged a complaint with the Pavagada police.
