BENGALURU: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have arrested two women for running a sex racket from a rented house in Byadarahalli while rescuing nine women who had been trafficked into flesh trade. The arrested were identified as Pushpalatha and Uma.

The police raided the house on specific information and arrested the two women. Police said that Pushpalatha and Uma would entice young women from other states who came to Bengaluru looking for jobs and push them into flesh trade.

The duo would share photos of the young women online and strike deals. They had taken the house on rent claiming that their husbands were no more, police said.

The CCB police also conducted raids at Sampigehalli, KR Pura, Ramamurthy Nagar and Hanumantha Nagar and busted prostitution rackets that were being run in high-end hotels and apartments. The police have rescued nine women during the searches.
