BALLARI: Villagers of Raravi in Siruguppa taluk of Ballari district took officials to task at the gram sabha meeting over worms continuously being found in drinking water supplied to the village.
The villagers brought the worm-infested water in bottles to the gram sabha and insisted that the officials drink the water. The villagers asked the officials to first drink the water and questioned how such quality of water can be supplied to people. They expressed anger and questioned who would be held responsible if people face health issue by drinking the worm-infested water.
Baffled by the questions of the angry villagers, the offcials said problem will be rectified immediately. Even earlier in Raravi village, worms were found in drinking water. Even then, officials who did not rectify the problem. So villagers brought worm-infested water in a bottle to the gram sabha meeting and expressed anger against officials.
