One arrested for assaulting traffic constable

The traffic constable was assaulted by two men.

BENGALURU: The Banaswadi police have arrested one person for attacking a traffic police constable on Banaswadi road. The accused has been identified as Suleman, a resident of HBR Layout.

 

Constable Umesh had clamped the car belonging to a family as it was parked in a no-parking zone. The family members, who came there at that time, picked an argument with the constable.

In a video doing the rounds, two men can be seen thrashing the constable even as a young woman collapses beside the car. Based on a complaint filed by the constable, the Banaswadi police had registered a case.

The main accused Suleman has been arrested.

On Friday, Joint Commissioner of Police M N Anucheth tweeted, “A traffic constable of Banaswadi Traffic PS was assaulted while performing his duty. A criminal case has been registered in Banaswadi PS. The main accused has been arrested. Further investigation is continued”.
