BENGALURU: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar has got another week’s relief after the Karnataka High Court put off further hearing into his plea seeking quashing of an FIR filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a disproportionate assets case, till March 3.

Karnataka High Court has ordered interim stay on further investigation in the disproportionate case till February 24. A single-judge bench of the high court had also asked the CBI to submit a report on the progress of investigation on February 24.

On Friday, when the court took up the plea, the lawyer for the CBI submitted a report on the progress of investigation as directed, and sought modification of the interim stay order. However, the court said the stay will continue till the next hearing on March 3.

Shivakumar had filed a petition seeking quashing of the FIR and stated that he is being issued notices to hamper his electioneering and to mentally harass him. The family members are also being harassed with notices, the plea contended.
