KOLAR: An Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter made an emergency landing in a lake at Karapanahalli village in Kolar district’s Bangarapet taluk due to some technical glitch. No casualties were reported.
Three pilots, including a woman pilot, were on a training mission and safely executed the emergency landing. The helicopter belongs to IAF’s Yelahanka Air Force station.
The training sortie was being conducted near KGF, Bangarapet and surrounding areas when technical issues cropped up, forcing an emergency landing.
Local residents from Bangarapet gathered at the site. Local police personnel too arrived there. Senior Air Force officials have informed that a team of technicians from Yelahanka will repair the helicopter at the site of landing after which it will be flown back to the Air Force station.
