BENGALURU: A history-sheeter was stabbed to death with a dagger at Bahadurpura in Anekal over old rivalry. The deceased history-sheeter has been identified as Manja alias Mental Manja. He was allegedly murdered by Viji, Shashi, Gautam and Madhu.
It is alleged that Viji was a witness in a case against Manja and the two shared personal rivalry. On Friday night, Shashi and Manju came face to face and the latter asked them to close the case against him. A tussle broke out between them which escalated to a brawl.
An angry Manja then tried to attack Viji, but was stabbed to death with a dagger. The Anekal police arrested Viji and Shashi while the other two accused, Gautam and Madhu, of absconding.
As per police sources, Manja went with a group near Tattoo Viji’s house and created a ruckus, wielding a sharp weapon. Viji then called his friends who tried to convince Manja by taking weapon from him. But Manja tried to attack Viji several times. At that time, Viji’s friends attacked Manja with the same weapon that he had brought.
Upon receiving the information, Anekal police visited the spot. There was a commotion between the two groups when the police reached the spot. The injured Manja had already escaped in a Tata Sumo and was taken to the Anekal government hospital where he died without responding to the treatment.
It is said that Manja has conspired to murder Viji and Shashi and hence came with a group of his associates and and had even brought a dagger.
Accused Viji’s mother said, “I do not know the relationship between them. A group of about 10 to 12 members came near the house. I was calling Vijay to have dinner around 10 pm. He was standing outside the house. The group attacked him after taking him away from the house. Other neighbours saw Vijay being assaulted from their rooftop. One of the group members was shouting at Vijay. Then, he went to the hospital before I got down from the top floor. The group members assaulted each other as well. I do not know much information about this fighting and murder. I do not come down most of theĀ time”.
