DAVANAGERE, HASSAN: A young girl died on the spot and the condition of two others is serious after a two-wheeler and a car collided on National Highway-48 near Kogganuru village in the taluk on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Ritu (17), a PUC I student of AVK College of Davanagere.
Prakash Naik of Hebbalu village, his daughter Sinchana and Ritu were going towards Davanagere on a motorcycle when a speeding car hit them from behind. Ritu, who was seriously injured, died on the spot itself. The injured were immediately admitted to a private hospital.The Davanagere Rural police visited spot and registered a case.
In an unrelated incident, 16-year-old Subhash Chandra Bose, and SSLC student, committed suicide by hanging at his house at Vinayaka Nagar in Arkalgud town. The motive for the suicide was not immediately known and the Arkalgud police visited the spot and taken up further investigation.
