BENGALURU: Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who returned to the city for the first time after taking charge of  his ministry, has alleged that the Congress government in the state is conspiring to send him to jail and they are looking for documents to finish him. “Those who wanted to destroy the Deve Gowda family also tried to destroy B S Yeddyurappa’s family”, he said.

Kumaraswamy further said, “The Congress government has been plotting against me since the day it came to power. They want to trouble me. They cannot digest that I became a minister at the Centre. They thought that they had finished me, but God decided otherwise. Now, I know what is going on”.

“Some ministers are looking for records of my Bidadi property, which was purchased in 1973–74 before I entered politics. It has been investigated more than 50 times, but they are still searching for looking for something to nail me. I know what they have done. When Yeddyurappa was CM, I was in the opposition. I fought against the government with the help of those land records. They are hatching a conspiracy to find something to keep the four cases alive. They are making efforts into sending me to jail. Everyone in this government is involved in the conspiracy”, he said.

Kumaraswamy on Saturday resigned as MLA of Channapatna Assembly constituency after he was elected Member of Parliament from Mandya. He submitted his resignation to Legislative Assembly Speaker U T Kahder at his office. G T Devegowda and Bhoje Gowda were present with him while submitting the resignation.

Kumaraswamy, who won the Lok Sabha elections from Mandya, has been allocated the Ministry of Heavy Industries; and Ministry of Steel in the Narendra Modi Cabinet.
