FIR registered against four, including Morarji Desai school principal; two arrested

KOLAR: An FIR has been registered against four people for harassment in connection with the case of  the school principal and teachers of the allegedly Morarji Desai Residential School near Yelavalli village in Malur taluk getting some children to get down into a septic tank to clean it and filming of girls changing their clothes.

A POCSO case has been registered against one of the accused. The police have arrested two people and are on the lookout for three more. In addition to the septic tank cleaning, one of the staffers of the residential school has been accused of filming the girls changing clothes and sleeping in the girls’ room.

A video of three students was made by the staffer, leaving the children shocked. When the matter came to light, the parents rushed to the school and protested.

The parents, students and caretakers have alleged that the filmed videos of girls are being shared with others and demanded strict action against the culprits.

Executive Director Naveen Kumar Raju said that the principal Bharatamma, teacher Muniyappa and warden Manjunath have been suspended after the case came to light. “I have noticed that some students’ personal videos have been leaked. The network behind this will be investigated immediately. The police department has already registered a case. The entire system here will be completely changed. Children and parents said need not worry” he siad. However, the parents surrounded Naveen Kumar Raju and protested.

Also, an FIR has been registered against four people based on a complaint filed by the Joint Director of Social Welfare Department Srinivas, regarding the issue of children being lowered into the septic tank in the residential school.

The principal Bharatamma and teacher Muniyappa have been arrested by the Masti police. The warden Manjunath and guest teacher Abhishek escaped after the incident, and police are on the lookout for them. The education department has already appointed a new principal, Raghu, followed by the suspension of the Bharatamma.
