Two fruit stalls go up in flames, foul play suspected

The fire gutted two fruit stalls in Mandya.

MANDYA: Two fruit stalls by the side of the road were burnt down in the wee hours today near Holalu Circle. The loss of property is yet to be estimated.

The fire first broke out in one shop and quickly spread to the neighbouring shop, completing burning down both of them. The shops are said to belong to Mahadev and Radhamma.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel put out the blaze.

The Fire and Emergency Services personnel put out the fire and prevented it from spreading further. Some locals said unidentified miscreants may have set fire to one of the shops and suggested that the shop owners should be compensated for the loss. A case has been registered at the Central police station.
