Leopard fell into a trap set up by forest department officials in Udupi.

UDUPI: An elusive leopard, which had residents of  Matapadi village in Brahmavar taluk on the edge, was finally captured by the Forest Department.

The villagers were fed up with the leopard menace and had appealed to the Forest Department to capture the animal and relocate it.

The villagers of Matapadi gathered to see the captured leopard.

The Forest Department had set up a trap a few days ago. The villagers of Matapadi heaved a sigh of relief after the leopard was trapped on Wednesday. Later, it was released into the forest.

Villagers thronged the site where the trap was laid to have a look at the captured leopard and took photos on their mobile phones.
