DAVANAGERE: A woman, who had fallen into the historical Soolekere near Kerebilachi in Channagiri taluk was rescued by locals who heard her cries for help.
The woman had fallen into the water, suspectedly from a viewpoint, and was crying for help even as she was drowning while holding on to an iron rod. A resident of Kerebilachi, Mohammed Ashraf, and a few other tourists got into the water and rescued the woman.
The unidentified woman, who had come alone to the lake, hails from Tyavanagi village. However, it was not known how or why she fell into the water. She was shifted to the local primary health centre for treatment. The incident occurred in Basavapatna police limits.
