MYSURU: An FIR has been registered against Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha for allegedly making ‘derogatory comments’ against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The FIR was registered based on a complaint by Mysuru district Congress president Dr B J Vijaykumar at the Devaraja police station.

Reacting to the issue on Facebook live, Pratap Simha said, “I’m not a tree to drop fruits if stones are thrown at me. I’m Pratap Simha and if you throw stones, I will be forced to do the same. On his ‘somari Sidda’ comment, he said it was not directed at the CM and added that it is a colloquial usage.

Addressing CM Siddaramaiah, he said, “You call the (Mysuru) maharaja, Prime Minister Modi, Deve Gowda and Yediyurappa in singular. Before joining the Congress, you addressed Sonia Gandhi too in singular. I don’t need lessons in how to address people. There has been an attempt to portray the colloquial usage as targeted against you. Lies are being spread by your supporters against me, please give them MP tickets name them as heads of boards and corporations soon”.

In a post on X with screenshots of the CM’s and the Congress’ posts, he advised the partymen to brush up their knowledge of singulars, plurals and grammar.
