CHIKKODI: An elderly man, who had gone to the Doodhganga river for a bath near Sadalaga town, died after he was attacked by a crocodile in the water, on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Mahadeva Punnappa Khure (72).
Mahadevappa did not know how to swim, but had got into the water for a bath when he was attacked by a crocodile. Some locals later found the body floating in the water and fished it out.
The body was later sent to a hospital for post-mortem examination and handed over to the family. The Sadalaga police have registered a case.
