BALLARI: Ballari Congress MP E Tukaram abused those who raised questions about poor road work using obscene language, inviting scorn from people.
The MP referred to those who questioned shoddy work using a derogatory slur. “Some [people I’m insulting] don’t know anything about the subject. I won’t say anything to random people who don’t know anything. They’ll take this and cook their own agenda,” the MP said.
Contractors had allegedly carried out substandard work on the service road of National Highway-50. The service road caved in within ten days and due to the poor quality of work, a truck got stuck on the road. The incident occurred on NH-50 near Danapura village in Hospet taluk, Vijayanagara district.
This is an overbridge and service road project being built at a cost of 33 crore and contractors were building the road by using fly ash instead of soil. Locals had expressed anger at MP Tukaram, the district administration, and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) over this.
On Sunday MP E Tukaram rushed to the incident site. During that time, MP E Tukaram targeted some of those who questioned him and used obscene words.
