KOLAR: An autorickshaw passenger, who had left behind a bag containing his iPhone and other valuables worth about Rs 1.5 lakh, got it back within an hour, thanks to quick action by the police and the honesty of the auto driver.

Syed Junaid, a resident of Phool Shah Mohalla here, hired an autorickshaw from the New Bus Stand to his house on Monday. While alighting, he forgot a bag containing his phone and some jewellery, worth Rs 1.5 lakh, in the autorickshaw and went home. When he realised this, he approached the Gulpet police station.

After tracking the phone’s location to Millat Nagar, the police called Junaid’s phone which was answered by auto driver Shahid Sheik. The auto driver told the police that he found the bag in his auto and promptly returned it to Gulpet police sub-inspector Arun Goud Patil.
