With the Lok Sabha elections just months away, Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh offered prayers at the temple. At this time, flowers from the right side of the idol fell down, which is considered a good omen. This led to much discussion about ‘positive’ outcomes for her in the upcoming election.

Speaking to media persons outside the temple after offering prayers, Sumalatha said, “I prayed for everyone’s good, like always. I have never asked for anything for myself. Goddess Nimishamba’s blessings are always upon us. We can feel a special vibration when we visit the temple. I believe I have received the goddess’ blessings”.
