CHIKKABALLAPUR: Two motorists died after they were knocked down by a BBMP compactor truck at Hulikunte village in Doddaballapur taluk on Monday evening. The incident occurred when the BBMP truck was heading to dump waste.
Just a few months ago, another individual had died in a similar manner after being knocked down by a compactor.
The lorry driver tried to escape, but some locals caught hold of him and handed him over to the police station.
Enraged by the deaths, the villagers staged protest on the road, where the accident took place on Monday night.
The MLA of Doddaballapur constituency, T Venkataramanaiah, also participated in the protest and demanded that the police take action against the accused.
The locals had blocked the roads for some time as part of protest.
