Burnt body of student found along with two-wheeler near Sarjapur

BENGALURU: A youth, was found charred to death along with a two-wheeler on Bikkanahalli road near Sarjapur in Anekal taluk on Thursday night. The deceased was identified as Vamshi Krishna, hailing from Andhra Pradesh and residing in Electronics City.

On Thursday night, the body was found on the road of the prestigious Azim Premji College. Locals noticed fire burning by the roadside and it was suspected to be a case of murder and setting fire along with the bike. The motorcycle and youth’s body were completely charred. Signs of garbage already burnt at the spot where the body was found could be seen.

Locals immediately informed Sarjapur police and Bengaluru Rural Additional SP Venkatesh Prasanna visited the spot. The forensic team and dog squad arrived at the spot and collected evidence.

Vamshi Krishna (26), was native of Tenali, Guntur, in Andhra Pradesh and was a student residing in Electronics City. He had done Diploma in Engineering at NTTF college in Electronics City. He worked in a private company for one year and was staying in a PG accommodation. He had not gone to work anywhere for the last four-five years.

At 3.40 pm on Thursday, he left the PG and headed towards Sarjapur to pick up his friend Bhanu Prakash who was coming from Andhra Pradesh. On the way, he called another friend Praveen, and invited him to dinner at a night hotel Bhanu Prakash was visiting. Bhanu Prakash said he got off at Sarjapur bus stand and, around 4.40 pm, he called Vamshi Krishna, but the mobile was switched off. The charred body was found around 6 pm on Bikkanahalli road.

The Sarjapur police, who visited the spot, called the owner of the two-wheeler, Srikrishna, brother of Vamsi Krishna, after identifying him from the number plate. Later, when family members and friends came to the spot and checked, it was identified as Vamshi Krishna’s body.

The police have registered a murder case and taken up investigation. The police are examining CCTV footage and CDR. The investigation is led by Sarjapur Inspector Mahendra Kumar and the police are investigating from various angles.
