BENGALURU; Already, the four transport corporations in the state are under losses and have resorted to various sources to raise revenue for the maintenance of the organisations.

The BMTC is making various efforts to increase non-ticket fare revenue sources and has already called tenders to display advertisements on the rear of buses and in the blank space on the back of ETM tickets.

Now, it is considering implementing another advertising revenue stream, and like the Railways, BMTC is planning to broadcast audio advertisements in BMTC buses for the first time. The buses have voice-based announcements to alert passengers about upcoming bus stops.

The corporation is now considering broadcasting audio advertisements in between these announcements. It is said that a tender regarding this is likely to be called soon.
