BENGALURU: A gang robbed a whopping amount of over Rs 7 crore from a cash van belonging to CMS Ltd in broad daylight near Jayadev Dairy Circle flyover (near Ashoka Pillar) in Bengaluru on Wednesday afternoon. The cash was being transported to be deposited in ATMs.
The tobbers stopped the cash van in the middle of the road and made off with Rs 7.11 crore that was in the vehicle. Police have visited the spot and are investigating.

After stopping on the Dairy Circle flyover, they transferred the cash from the vehicle into the Innova and escaped. The Suddaguntepalya police have visited the scene and are conducting a review.
Four CMS staff members were in the vehicle — one driver, two gunmen, and another cash‑handling staffer. They are currently being questioned at the Siddapura police station. The gang, which had been planning the heist for several days, followed the cash‑transport van on Wednesday morning.
Police have blockaded major roads in the city to trace the robbers’ vehicle. Two senior police officers have been deployed and a Deputy Commissioner of Police is conducting an investigation. Police suspect the involvement of the CMS (Cash Management Service) staff too as the police were informed late about the incident, and the gunmen failed to use the weapons provided to them.
Currently, the driver, two gunmen, and the cash‑depositing staff member are being interrogated at the Siddapura police station. “We will arrest the accused as soon as possible”, said Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh.
The culprits used a Toyota Innova car with ‘Government of India’ emblazoned on it. The police department has released photos of the suspects who were in the Innova. A high‑alert has been issued with preliminary information, and the photos of the suspects—both previous offenders and some new suspects—have been circulated.
The police have released photos of six individuals and requested citizens to inform them if they come across suspicious persons.
