BENGALURU: A 25-year-old man committed suicide by hanging at his residence after a breakup with his girlfriend at Ullal satellite town on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Rohit.

On Wednesday, Rohit had gone to meet his girlfriend and when he came back and spoke to her on phone, they decided to break up. Upset over this, he committed suicide at his residence in the evening. His parents filed a complaint at the Jnanabharati police station and further investigation is under way.
“I have known about his relationship for the past five to six years, but my parents did not know about it. He had completed his SSLC and was working as a courier boy with DTDC and also as a gym trainer. All we know is he went to meet the girl and we do not know what happened after that. They know each other from school”, said Praveen, Rohit’s elder brother.
“Rohit had told me about his girlfriend. He told me that she was studying at a college. He spoke to me in the morning and around 12 pm, he spoke to her on phone. After that, when we tried to call him, he did answer the phone for a long time. In the evening, we got to know about his death”, said Yuvaraj, Rohit’s friend.
