BAGALKOT: A youth hacked a man to death after being warned not to pursue the latter’s daughter, at Bhagawati village in the taluk on Monday. The accused Praveen Kamble has since been arrested.
Praveen Kamble, who runs a tea shop in the village, was pursuing Sanganagouda Goudar’s (52) daughter and had been warned by the family not to do so and was even assaulted. Apprehending that the father would come in his way, Praveen hacked Sanganagouda to death.
“Praveen was harassing Sanganagouda’s daughter to have a relationship with him. The family had warned him to stop pursuing the girl and to exact revenge, he hacked the father to death”, said SP Amarnath Reddy. The Bagalkot Rural police have arrested the accused and registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
