BELAGAVI: A newly-married woman, who teamed up with her lover and stole gold and silver ornaments from her husband’s house in Hosakoti village, Ramdurg taluk, has been arrested by the police.
Haseena Nadaf teamed up with her lover Hanamanth Marapur and stole 154.6 grams of gold ornaments worth Rs 21 lakh from her own husband’s house. The police have so far recovered 45 grams of silver ornaments worth Rs 11,000 the duo.

The husband Dilshan Nadaf had filed a complaint at Katkol police station regarding the theft. After receiving the complaint, police arrested the lovers who committed the theft within 48 hours. The operation was conducted under the leadership of Ramdurg CPI Vinayak Badiger and PSI Basavaraj Konnur.
Police have arrested Hanamanth Marapur and Haseena Nadaf. Haseena is said to be originally from Mudalgi taluk. She had married Sharif from Hosakoti village just two months ago. It is said that Haseena remained in contact with her lover even after marriage.
Both have now been arrested and sent to jail. A case has been registered at Ramdurg police station regarding this. Police Superintendent K Ramarajan has appreciated the work of the Katkol police.
