KOLAR: A woman, who had gone to the field with her five-year-old child to collect fodder was found dead in a farm well in Hogari Gollahalli village in the district. The bodies of Mala (35), wife of Manjunath, a mason in Hogari Gollahalli village and her son Chakravarthi were discovered in a farm well on Saturday night.
Mala had reportedly taken her son to the field to graze cattle and hadn’t returned home, prompting family members to launch a search. The cause of death appears to be accidental drowning, with the child possibly falling into the well and the mother trying to save him. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
The family members are shocked and saddened by the incident. Mala and her husband, Manjunath, had been married for seven years and had one son, Chakravarthi. Mala would often take their son to the field while he worked as a mason.
The police have visited the scene and are investigating the incident. According to the police, there were no issues between the couple and it appears to be an accidental death. The family is still in shock and the village is mourning the loss of the mother and child.
