UDUPI: College students from Kundapura staged a protest against KSRTC demanding more government buses in villages and remote areas. The students took the transport utility officials to task over poor bus services and expressed outrage at the KSRTC for not following schedules.

A girl student, in a raised voice, told the Byndoor KSRTC officials that they do not want free bus service and demanded additional buses, especially in remote areas. It would help them reach college on time, she said. Many a times, they miss out of classes as buses are late, she said. They are struggling to catch government buses and not getting seats, neither in the morning nor evening, she added. Now the video of that girl student is going viral on social media.

Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole participated in the protest and asked the officials to answer the questions of the students. Gantihole warned the KSRTC officials that if there is a problem with the students, as an MLA, he would also join in protest with the children.
