BENGALURU: A watch costing Rs 2 lakh, belonging to an elderly person who was admitted to a private hospital, was allegedly stolen along with his sweater. The man’s daughter, who is distressed over theft of her father’s valuable watch, which was his last memory, has filed a complaint with the Govindarajanagar police.

The patient, K Ramaiah, had been admitted to a private hospital a few months ago for treatment due to severe illness, but died in the hospital without responding to treatment. But during treatment, the sweater on his person and a watch worth Rs 2 lakh were stolen.

Ramaiah’s daughter Anitha Ramaiah had filed a complaint about this at Govindarajanagar police station, but there was a delay in registering an FIR after taking the complaint. Finally, the police registered an FIR four days ago and are investigating.

When the hospital authorities were questioned, they claimed that the CCTV footage was deleted. The Govindarajanagar police have taken the complaint and are investigating the matter.
