HASSAN: Two youths died while three others were badly injured when the car in which they were in went off the road, hit an electricity pole and fell into a roadside ditch near the Madenur flyover in the taluk on Thursday night.
The deceased are Rakshit (22) and Kushal (24) and the injured at Abhishek, Nishanth and Manjunath, all from Channarayapatna. While Rakshit died on the spot, Kushal succumbed to injuries in hospital. The condition of the other three is said to be critical.
The youths had celebrated one of their birthday on the flyover and were heading towards Hassan when the accident occurred. Kushal had borrowed the car belonging to one Girish and the vehicle was completely smashed. The Saligrama police visited the spot and have registered a case.
