Police arrest three in Hangal gangrape, moral policing case, on lookout for three more

HAVERI: The moral policing victim, who was attacked in a lodge in Hangal, on Thursday recorded her statement before a magistrate alleging gangrape following which the police have launched an investigation.

Three people — Aftab, Madarsab and Abdul Khader — have already been arrested in the case and have been sent to 14 days in judicial custody. Another accused, Mohammed Saif, is undergoing treatment in a hospital and he will be produced before a court after her is discharged.

The woman had alleged that she was gangraped by seven men and the police are on the lookout for the three other accused. On Friday, the police took the victim for spot examination along with the forensic experts and also got her medical checkup done.
