BENGALURU: In the latest instance of road rage, a two-wheeler rider attacked an autorickshaw driver with a metal bangle, causing injuries, on Triveni Road in Yeshwanthpur on Thursday. The two-wheeler rider was arrested and later released on station bail.
An autorickshaw was caught in a traffic jam when the two-wheeler rider squeezed between the autorickshaw and a parked SUV. When the auto driver told him that his vehicle is touching the auto, the enraged two-wheeler rider assaulted the auto driver.
The rider, identified as J J Singh, hit the auto driver on the head with an iron bangle he was wearing, but the auto driver ducked to avoid the blow to his head and the iron bangle hit his hand. The auto driver screamed in pain after his hand was injured.
When locals questioned him, the youth from UP shouted at them too. The auto driver then called 112 and Singh shouted again even when police arrived. Finally, the Yeshwantpur police took Singh to the station and arrested the accused as the auto driver’s hand was injured. However, he was later released on station bail.
