BENGALURU: Fed up with the constant harassment by an obsessive lover, a housewife committed suicide at Lakshmipuram in Indiranagar on August 6. The police have arrested the accused Kiran.
Kavitha S (21), was married to her relative Raju in May 2024 and the couple have a 1.5-year-old child. On August 6, Kavitha died by suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan. During the investigation, it came to light that Kiran had been harassing her.
Three years ago, Kiran had been pursuing Kavitha saying he loved her but her family members had warned him against pursuing her. In 2024, Kavitha got married to Raju, but of late, Kiran started harassing Kavitha again. He threatened, “If you don’t message me, I will die”. Kiran kept harassing Kavitha by messaging, saying “I will ruin the life of the one who ruined my peace”.

After the husband Raju informed Kavitha’s parents about this, she was distressed that her husband and family came to know about it. During a check of her mobile phone, it came to light that Kiran was harassing Kavitha.
Kavitha’s brother, Girish said, “I don’t want this injustice that happened to our daughter to happen to anyone else. Kavitha was doing well and the couple were living happily, but now she died by suicide. We gave a complaint to the police and they have arrested him. We haven’t seen what all messages were sent, we want justice”.
