TUMAKURU: Two people died after a pickup truck rammed into a truck from behind on National Highway-48 near Chikkanahalli in Sira taluk on Thursday. The pickup truck driver sustained injuries in the accident.
The deceased were identified as Umesh and Santosh, hailing from Athani in Belagavi district. The Mahindra Bolero pickup truck, which was carrying grapes towards Bengaluru, when it rammed into the truck from behind.
The injured pickup truck driver was shifted to the government hospital in Sira for treatment. The Kallambella police have registered a case.
