Jeevan Bima Nagar police has revealed that Leela had called her mother before she was murdered

Leela Pavitra called her mother, who was in Andhra Pradesh, after learning that Dinakar had come to her workplace. She told her mother that she did not know what to do. When she went out to talk to Dinakar, she called her mother and gave her phone to Dinakar to talk to her. Leela’s mother scolded him and told him to leave. While talking on the phone, he took out a knife and stabbed Leela.

Dinakar was harassing Leela to accept his love even while studying at college. After completing her education, she came to Bengaluru for work. Dinakar called her mother and asked for Leela’s hand in marriage, but she refused claiming that it was not possible due to caste differences. Dinakar had threatened Leela’s mother saying if he did not marry Leela, he would find and kill her and commit suicide himself. Through his friends, he found her work place and went there to talk to her, but brutally stabbed her over 16 times, killing her.
