CHAMARAJANAGAR: Miscreants destroyed the tomato crop of a farmer worth lakhs at Kebbepura village in the taluk.

Farmer Manju had cultivated tomatoes on one-and-half acres and the crop was ready for harvest. However, some miscreants destroyed his standing, leaving him distraught. The farmer lay on the field weeping on seeing the damage.

Manju had borrowed loans and pledged gold to raise money for raising the crop. In videos doign the rounds, he can be heard pleading and crying over the loss of his crop.

A sniffer dog was pressed into service to trace the culprits.

Following a complaint, the Begur police visited the field along with a dog squad and are on the lookout for the culprits.
