BELAGAVI, BALLARI: Three people died on the spot and one person is in serious condition after a bus collided with a motorcycle at Konnur in Gokak taluk on Thursday. The deceased are Saif Mulla (29), his daughter Siza Mulla (4), and Imtiyaz Badagaon (35) while Jihan Sharuk Kudachikar has been admitted to a private hospital where his condition is serious.
The bus was heading from Hidkal to Gokak while the trio was leaving from Porbus School near Gokak Falls towards Konnur. The bus driver fled after leaving the vehicle. The Gokak Rural police visited the spot and registered a case.
In a separate case, a car crashed into a divider and the driver was trapped inside, near Alur Cross in Kudligi taluk of Vijayanagara district, on National Highway-50.
Due to flyover construction on the highway, a divider had been installed. The driver did not notice the divider and crashed into it. The car was coming from Bengaluru side and the driver lost control and hit the divider. Due to the impact, the front of the car was completely mangled.
Locals immediately rescued the driver who was trapped in the car, and the seriously injured driver was admitted to Jagalur Hospital. A case has been registered at Khana Hosahalli police station.
