Technical tests are being conducted on the driverless train.

BENGALURU: The prototype of the Namma Metro driverless train, which will run on the yellow line, is being subjected to technical tests for 14 days by officials from the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO).

The yellow line may not be operationalised this year as claimed by BMRCL earlier. The service on the yellow line may start only in January or February 2025.

Construction work on the yellow line between RV Road and Bommasandra is already complete. But as some technical issues need to be sorted out, tests will be conducted by RDSO for two weeks.

The tests will include speed tests, brake test, weight test among others. Following this, the BMRCL will submit a technical report to Railway Board which will grant approval for commencement of commercial operations.
