MYSURU: Perturbed by children arriving late to school and missing their tests due to overcrowding of buses, the headmaster of a government school in the city has written to the KSRTC seeking improvement of services.

Chandru, headmaster of the government higher primary school at Kukkarahalli in the city, noted that children are struggling to reach schools every day due to shortage of buses. The school has students coming from Doddamaregowdanahalli, Gaddige, Kaniyanahundi, Marayyanahundi and other villages, but buses do not stop to pick up the children, he said.

Kukkarahalli government school headmaster Chandru said he convinced the students not to block buses and stage protest for now.

The headmaster further said that due to conveyance problems, the students are arriving late to school and are finding it difficult to arrive on time for tests and exams. Sometimes, even if there are buses, they do not stop, due to which the students return home. If corrective measures are not taken immediately, the issue will be raised with Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy, the headmaster warned.
